Italian biathlete Passler suspended after pre-Olympics doping test

The 24-year-old's sample showed the presence of letrozole, a drug used to treat breast cancer, the Italian anti-doping agency (NADO Italia) said in a statement. It was detected in an out-of-competition test which fell outside the official Games testing window. Passler currently stands 33rd in the overall World Cup standings. The niece of Johann Passler, an Olympic bronze medallist at the 1988 Calgary Games, she would have been competing in her home town of Anterselva at the Milan-Cortina Games.
