Canadian snowboarder dead after plummeting into waterfall basin in Japan

A Canadian woman is dead after reportedly falling into a waterfall basin while snowboarding off course at a ski resort in western Japan on Sunday.

Police in Minamiuonuma City, Niigata Prefecture, said the 39-year-old was snowboarding at the Muikamachi Hakkaisan Ski Resort on the western side of 1,778-metre Mount Hakkai about mid-afternoon when she left the established trail and is believed to have fallen from an undisclosed height, according to ...
