€15,500 fines after worker falls at construction site

Two construction companies were fined a total of €15,500 on Monday after a worker was seriously injured in a fall from a height of 5.5 metres at a building site in Nicosia.

The Nicosia district court imposed an €11,500 fine on Perkola Building Works and a €4,000 fine on Cyfield following a criminal prosecution by the inspection department of the labour ministry.
