Sustaining 7-8% growth govt's top priority: FM Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said sustaining 7–8 per cent economic growth remains the government’s top priority, as it supports job creation and broad-based benefits for citizens. Speaking to college students after the Union Budget 2026–27, she said policy decisions are aimed at maintaining India’s position as the world’s fastest-growing major economy.
