SC directs Centre to set up tribunal on sharing of Pennaiyar river waters

The Supreme Court has ordered the Central government to establish a tribunal. This tribunal will resolve the water sharing dispute concerning the Pennaiyar river between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The notification and tribunal formation must be completed within one month. Tamil Nadu had approached the court in 2018 regarding Karnataka's actions on the river.
