Frieren finds time to soak up some memories in a laid-back outing

If it wasn’t clear that Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is more preoccupied with the emotional experience of going on an adventure than the “result” or “purpose” of said quest, this week’s episode was a reminder that this story is all about the little moments leading up to the destination. It’s an approach that works in no small part thanks to Madhouse’s considerable production chops, a streak they managed to maintain here.
