EU trade deal gives PM Modi’s ‘Make in India’ ambitions a boost

India’s free trade agreement with the European Union offers relief to exporters hit by steep US tariffs and supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s push to make India a global manufacturing hub. The deal, described by both sides as the “mother of all deals”, will see the EU eliminate or reduce tariffs on 99.5% of imports from India.
