Ligue 1+ acquires streaming rights to 2026 World Cup

January 30 – Ligue 1+, the broadcast streaming channel owned by the league, is making its boldest and perhaps its riskiest move to date after securing French rights to the entire 2026 FIFA World Cup through a deal with FIFA.

The in-house streaming platform, owned by the LFP, will carry all 104 matches, marking its first major acquisition of external premium rights and a significant expansion beyond domestic league content.
