Latest Trump-Iran escalation is "a new shiny object" taking focus off Minneapolis

U.S. President Donald Trump ⁠urged Iran on Wednesday to come to the table and make a deal on nuclear weapons or the next U.S. attack would be far worse. Tehran responded with a threat to strike back against the United States, Israel and those who support them. Yet, it is unclear what Trump actually wants: regime change, nuclear talks, or something for Iranian protesters who have suffered a brutal, deadly crackdown. What's for sure is that it is taking focus off Trump's political struggles back home, says FRANCE 24's Douglas Herbert.
