Pafos FC exit with heads held high despite heartbreak

A thumping 4-1 victory over Slavia Prague in the Champions League was not enough for Pafos to qualify for the knockout stages as the Cyprus champions were eliminated only due to an inferior goal difference than Bodo/Glimt and Benfica.

Pafos ended the eight-match league phase in 26th place, with 9 points, the same as Bodo/Glimt and Benfica, who, due to a better goal difference than Pafos, finished in 23rd and 24th place, respectively, and continue in the competition.
