Unemployment in Finland hits highest level since 2009
Unemployment in Finland rose to 10.7 percent in December 2025, marking the highest rate recorded since 2009, according to data released by Statistics Finland.
The number of unemployed persons increased by 51,000 compared to the previous year, reaching 277,000. The number of employed persons stood at 2,547,000, which was 7,000 fewer than in December 2024.
The rise in unemployment was reflected across all age groups.
