Footage taken inside the airport shows the vehicle coming to a standstill deep inside the airport terminal.

A chaotic scene unfolded Friday night at Detroit’s main airport after a driver smashed a vehicle through the glass entrance of a terminal and into an airline check-in area.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. inside the McNamara Terminal at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, when a car breached the terminal doors and eventually ended up by the Delta Airlines counters.
