Facebook owner Meta chops hundreds more Bay Area jobs

BURLINGAME — Facebook owner Meta Platforms disclosed plans to slash hundreds of jobs in the Bay Area, reductions that arrive at a time of ongoing job losses for the region’s tech industry.

The decision will affect 219 positions at 311 Airport Blvd. in Burlingame, the company reported to the state Employment Development Department in an official WARN letter.

Menlo Park-based Meta Platforms said the cuts would take place on or around March 20, according to the WARN notice.
