Odisha gram rakhis get monthly remuneration hike from Rs 1,800 to Rs 2,500

Odisha's village guards, 'gram rakhis', will now receive a monthly remuneration of Rs 2,500, a hike from Rs 1,800. This decision, prompted by the Orissa High Court, aims to bolster law and order and community policing. A mandatory weekly attendance at police stations has also been introduced for the state's 18,400 volunteers.
