EU allocates €126m in aid for Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran

The European Commission announced a €126 million humanitarian aid package for Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran in 2026 amid worsening global crises.

The European Commission said on Wednesday that the funding forms part of a wider €1.9 billion package allocated to address major humanitarian emergencies worldwide.

According to the commission, the decision comes as an estimated 239 million people globally are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.
