Rachel Bilson's Grandfather, Emmy-Winning Director Bruce Bilson, Dies at 97

Rachel Bilson and her family are mourning the loss of their patriarch, Bruce Bilson.

The Emmy-winning director has passed away at the age of 97.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Bruce died on January 16 at his home in Los Angeles. His daughter, producer Julie Bilson Ahlberg, said that he died “peacefully.”

Throughout his career, Bilson directed over 400 episodes of television and was best known for his work on the secret agent parody series Get Smart, for which he won a directing Emmy in 1968.
