DGCA issued record 1,628 commercial pilot licenses in 2024: Govt

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued a record 1,628 commercial pilot licenses in 2024, more than 2.5 times the number from eight years prior. The civil aviation ministry also actively monitored fare levels, invoking regulatory powers during the IndiGo crisis to ensure fair pricing and protect passengers from opportunistic charges.
