A court has jailed Han Duck-soo for his role in former President Yoon Suk-yeol’s insurrection plot
A South Korean court has sentenced former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo to 23 years in prison for his role in ex-President Yoon Suk-yeol’s failed attempt to impose martial law in December 2024.
Yoon was impeached and potentially faces the death penalty for the short-lived coup. The Seoul Central District Court’s ruling on Wednesday is the first related to the dramatic events.
