A jury was selected Tuesday in downtown Los Angeles for the trial of former Dodger Yasiel Puig, who faces federal charges for allegedly lying to investigators about his suspected involvement in illegal sports betting.
Puig, 35, is charged with obstruction of justice and two counts of making false statements to federal investigators.
The right fielder spent six seasons with the Dodgers and last played Major League Baseball in 2019, splitting time between Cincinnati and Cleveland.
