Govt to extend palliative care services to rural areas

Odisha is expanding palliative care to rural areas by training healthcare staff at sub-health centres, PHCs, and CHCs. This initiative aims to provide essential end-of-life care, including pain management, to cancer and terminally-ill patients at home. The state has already established day-care facilities in district hospitals and plans to integrate palliative units with upcoming cancer centres.
