High-speed train collision in Spain leaves 39 dead, over 120 injured

At least 39 people have died and more than 120 have been injured following a high-speed train collision in southern Spain. The incident occurred on Sunday evening near the town of Adamuz, in the province of Córdoba, when two passenger trains travelling in opposite directions collided on a straight stretch of recently renovated track.

The crash involved a northbound train operated by Iryo, which had departed Málaga at around 18:45 local time, and a southbound train run by state-owned Renfe, en route from Madrid to Huelva.
