Bill to allow Uber, Lyft in Israel gains committee approval

Israel’s ministerial committee has approved a law to allow ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft, aiming to reduce taxi fares. The reform, still needing full parliamentary approval, sets safety rules, driver checks, and insurance while supporting existing taxi operators. Transport Minister Miri Regev said it would boost jobs, competition, and ease congestion.
