Mileage testing with AC to be mandatory for cars from October 2026

New rules are coming for car mileage tests. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways wants vehicles tested with their air conditioning on and off. This will give drivers more realistic fuel efficiency figures. The new rule applies to cars made or imported from October 1, 2026. Manufacturers will have to show mileage for both AC on and off scenarios.
