Trump tariff threat raises alarm in Finland
President Donald Trump’s threat to impose new import tariffs on several European countries has prompted concern in Finland over trade, security, and the future of transatlantic relations.
Trump announced on Saturday that the United States would introduce a ten percent tariff on goods from eight European countries, including Finland, starting on 1 February. The rate would rise to 25 percent from 1 June. Trump said the measures would remain in force until the United States gains control of Greenland.
