'Star Wars' Boss Kathleen Kennedy Steps Down as Lucasfilm President, But Future Jobs Already In Place

Kathleen Kennedy is stepping down from her role as president of Lucasfilm after nearly 14 years of leading the Star Wars universe.

The eight-time Oscar-nominated movie producer joined Lucasfilm in 2012 as George Lucas‘ co-chair and then became the head of the company just a few months later when Disney purchased it.

Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan are the new co-presidents of Lucasfilm and they will split duties, with Filoni handling creative direction and Brennan overseeing the business side.
