Maria Corina Machado awards the Nobel Peace Prize to President Trump

Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado made her first appearance at the White House to meet with President Trump on Thursday, where she gave him her Nobel Peace Prize. 

Machado confirmed to reporters as she departed the White House that she presented him the prize, likening it to Continental Army General Lafayette’s gift to Venezuelan liberator Simon Bolivar, who freed Venezuela from Spanish rule in the 1800s.
