Beach hazards statement affecting Bay Area Shorelines until Thursday night – waves of 7 to 12 feet forecast
Coastal North Bay including Point Reyes National Seashore, San Francisco Peninsula Coast, Northern Monterey Bay and Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast as well as San Francisco County are the focus of a beach hazards statement released at 3:03 a.m. on Thursday by the National Weather Service. The statement is in effect until 9 p.m.
The NWS San Francisco CA states to anticipate, “An increased risk for sneaker waves and strong rip currents with breaking waves of 7 to 12 feet.”
