Motorcyclist dies on Vasco Road near Livermore

LIVERMORE — A motorcyclist died Monday morning after crashing on Vasco Road, authorities said.

Authorities on Tuesday were still trying to identify the man, believed to be in his 70s.

The California Highway Patrol said that just after 5 a.m. Monday the man, who was wearing a helmet, was riding south on Vasco Road north of Dyer Road when for reasons still under investigation, he left his traffic lane, crossed over into the northbound lane and crashed into a guard rail.
