Indian Railways refuses to disclose train fare method, calls it a ‘trade secret’

Indian Railways has informed the Central Information Commission that its passenger train fare calculation methods are a trade secret. The Railway Board stated this information cannot be shared under the Right to Information Act. This decision came as the Commission dismissed an application seeking details on fare calculation, including dynamic pricing and Tatkal bookings.
