Haiti faces humanitarian, healthcare strain as gang violence disrupts NGO operations

Sixteen years since the devastating earthquake in Haiti that killed more than 200,000 people and flattened countless homes and infrastructure, disaster has given way to other crises. Today, gang violence continues to plague the Caribbean nation, displacing at least 1.4 million people in 2025 according to the UN.
