All Kittilä flights cancelled due to cold, roads icy in south
All flights to and from Kittilä Airport in Finnish Lapland were cancelled on Sunday due to extreme cold, according to airport operator Finavia.
Temperatures at the airport reached -37°C on Sunday morning, disrupting operations for the third consecutive day. The Finnish Meteorological Institute forecast lows of nearly -40°C for Monday.
Finnair cancelled 23 flights scheduled to depart from or arrive at Kittilä on Sunday, including 15 international and eight domestic services.
