San Leandro: Suspect charged in beating of 78-year-old man during home invasion robbery

SAN LEANDRO — An Oakland man was charged with three felonies in connection with an Oct. 24, 2025, robbery where the victim, a 78-year-old man, was beaten with a gun, court records show.

Bobby Lu, 41, was charged with home invasion robbery, assault with a firearm, and elder abuse, court records show. He is not in the county jail system and hasn’t yet had a court date. Alameda County prosecutors filed the case on Jan. 6.
