Bay Area Shorelines placed under a high surf advisory until Friday night – breaking waves up to 22 feet expected
Coastal North Bay including Point Reyes National Seashore, San Francisco Peninsula Coast and Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast as well as San Francisco County are the focus of a high surf advisory released at 8:54 a.m. on Friday by the National Weather Service. The advisory is in effect until 10 p.m.
The NWS San Francisco CA adds to be ready for, “Large breaking waves up to 22 feet, strong rip currents and sneaker waves.”
“There is an increased risk for sneaker waves, strong rip currents, and beach erosion.
