Govt appoints IPS officer Anand Swaroop as Special Secretary (Internal Security) at MHA

Anand Swaroop, a senior IPS officer, has been appointed as the new Special Secretary (Internal Security). He will take over from Praveen Vashista. Swaroop's tenure is set until August 31, 2029. Meanwhile, Anupama Nilekar Chandra will become Director General (Investigation) at the NHRC. This appointment replaces Swaroop in his current role.
