5 freeway through Grapevine and Tehachapi placed under a winter weather advisory Thursday

5 freeway through Grapevine and Tehachapi are under a winter weather advisory which was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 12:03 p.m. The advisory is valid for Thursday, Jan. 8 between 4 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The NWS Hanford CA adds to prepare for, “Total snow accumulation 2 to 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph, producing blowing snow.”

“Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage.
