High wind warning issued for Santa Susana Mountains from Thursday to Saturday – winds gusting up to 70 mph

On Wednesday at 12:21 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a high wind warning valid from Thursday 6 a.m. until Saturday Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. for Santa Susana Mountains.

According to the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA, “North shifting northeast winds, 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected.”

“Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Risk is increased due to recently saturated soils. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” according to the NWS.
