5 Freeway through Grapevine placed under a high wind warning until Thursday evening – gusts as high as 60 mph

5 freeway through Grapevine, Tehachapi, Frazier Mountain Communities and Mojave Desert Slopes are included in a high wind warning released by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 12:39 a.m. The warning is valid from 8 p.m. until Thursday Jan. 8, at 8 p.m.

The NWS Hanford CA said, “Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts as high as 60 mph possible.”

“Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” the NWS said.
