Flood advisory affecting Alameda and Contra Costa counties Monday evening due to intense rainfall

Alameda and Contra Costa counties are included in an updated flood advisory issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 8:25 p.m. The advisory is in effect until 9:45 p.m.

The NWS San Francisco CA says to be ready for, “Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.”

“Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways,” the NWS said. “Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
