Two prisoners are on the run after absconding from jail on New Year’s Day.

People have been urged to call 999 if they see Matthew Armstrong, 35, and Daniel Washbourne, 40, who both have convictions for violence.

Armstrong was convicted of murder in the late 2000s, Avon and Somerset Police revealed as they appealed for information.
