Emergency services respond to 199 calls during Helsinki New Year

New Year’s Eve in Helsinki saw a total of 199 emergency responses, including 156 ambulance dispatches and 43 rescue service alerts, according to city authorities.

The Helsinki Rescue Department reported that the evening progressed without major incidents. Most ambulance calls were related to alcohol, including poisonings and falls. Rescue teams responded mainly to fires caused by fireworks.
