Excise duty on tobacco: Manufacturers to install CCTV, preserve footage for 24 months from February 1

New rules mandate chewing tobacco and gutkha makers install CCTV systems by February 1. Footage must be kept for 24 months. Manufacturers will disclose machine numbers and capacities to excise authorities. Abatement in excise duty is possible for machines non-functional for 15 days. Additional excise duties will also be levied on these products.
