Palos Verdes Estates sued over reported collision between police vehicle and youth fleeing on EBike

LOS ANGELES — A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a then-12-year-old boy who was injured when the electric bicycle he was riding struck a Palos Verdes Estates police cruiser that allegedly blocked his path as the child fled in 2024.

The Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit alleges negligence, civil rights violations and assault and battery. The boy seeks unspecified damages and attorneys’ fees.

A representative for the Palos Verdes Estates city attorney did not immediately reply to a request for comment on the suit brought Dec.
