WhatsApp to roll out local billing for business users later this year

WhatsApp is introducing local billing in India and Brazil by the second half of 2026. This move will allow businesses to pay in rupees, eliminating foreign exchange costs and complexities. The platform is also expanding to ten more local currencies globally. WhatsApp will increase marketing message rates in India from January 1, 2026.
