Kids deck out Golden Gate ferries for holidays

Local elementary school children were treated to Golden Gate Ferry boat rides during December. In exchange, young artists decorated the vessels with festive holiday art.

The tradition dates back nearly 35 years. Last season, Golden Gate Ferry hosted more than 600 students from 14 elementary schools in San Francisco, Marin and Sonoma counties, said Paolo Cosulich-Schwartz, spokesperson for the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District.
