On paper, Netflix'sThe Electric State had the potential to be a hit for the popular streaming service. It features two top-tier stars in Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown and popular actor Chris Pratt. It was also directed by the Russo Brothers (Avengers: Endgame and upcoming Avengers: Doomsday). To top it off, the movie was based on a critically acclaimed novel written by Simon Stalenhag. Following reports that The Electric State had an eye-opening $320 million production budget, it checked in as one of 2025's most expensive projects.
