China conducts second day of military drills around Taiwan

China launched two days of live-fire drills around Taiwan. The exercises simulated a blockade of key ports and assaults on maritime targets. Taipei condemned the drills as military intimidation. Beijing stated the exercises were a stern warning against separatist forces and a necessary action to safeguard sovereignty. The drills are due to finish Tuesday evening.
