ATM numbers dip in FY25 as digital payments rise: RBI

India saw a moderate drop in ATM numbers during FY25. This trend is linked to the rise in digital payments. Meanwhile, the country's bank branches expanded by over two percent. Public sector banks led this branch network growth. White label ATMs, however, increased. Basic savings accounts also grew, with most using the business correspondent model.
