2025 Year Ender: Law Ministry takes big step to shed 'govt biggest litigant ' tag

The Union Law Ministry has repealed over 70 obsolete laws, continuing a trend to declutter statute books. Efforts to reduce the central government's status as the biggest litigant are underway through directives to ministries and PSUs. However, the establishment of a mediation council, mandated by a law passed two years ago, has not progressed.
