Wind advisory affecting Los Angeles County until Sunday night – gusts as high as 45 mph

Western Santa Monica Mountains Recreational area, Santa Susana Mountains, 5 Freeway corridor near Santa Clarita and Western San Gabriel Mountains/Highway 14 Corridor are under a wind advisory which was released by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 1:08 a.m. The advisory is valid between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

“Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected,” according to the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA. “Wet soils will increase the likelihood of damage.”

“Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines.
