High surf advisory for Los Angeles County beaches until Saturday midday – breaking waves of 5 to 8 feet likely
Malibu, Los Angeles County Beaches and Ventura County Beaches were placed under a high surf advisory by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 1:53 p.m. The advisory is in effect until Saturday Dec. 27, at 11 a.m.
“Large breaking waves of 5 to 8 feet with dangerous rip currents,” can be anticipated according to the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA. “Minor to potentially isolated moderate coastal flooding for south-facing beaches especially during high tides.”
“There is an increased risk for ocean drowning.
